What would our year be without Christmas?

Once we have our holidays out of the way - that would be the Christmas Break and the New Year Fun Days - it is time for almost all of the working population to settle back into routine. How often do you hear people grizzling about Christimas - is the complaining habit or is it heartfelt? I often think our lives would just not seem right without the buzz of the Christmas/New Year break.Christmas signals the end of our year - for the housewives of yesteryear it was the yardstick for getting lots of little jobbies done..(.bet you have done it yourself)...New curtains - lets get them hung before Christmas..the flower bed out the front?...needs to be in full bloom by Christmas..Bathroom retiled..got to be done by Christmas Day, the 101 people I haven't seen all year...MUST catch up with all of them before Christmas... I see no harm in using this very special time as a motivational yardstick as long as we take the time to be thankful for the pleasure and love that the Festive Season brings to all of us lucky buggers!! Time to settle back into routine and get on with those "to do" lists...I've reactivated my "to do list" book - now that could be because I am highly motivated or the memory now needs fine tuning...A productive 2013 everyone..you have just over 10 months to get your list completed!!

2012 is the YEAR of the DRAGON - with wings

As my opening page indicates I have chosen PENOLA as d'meg&johl's permanent location. I will miss certain parts of being on the move and"popping up" all over the place but being in Penola is just like having different pop-up shops: I was amazed at how many tourists come through here .Penola felt right: it is a wonderful little township with so much to offer..and being right next door to Coonawarra is a BIG plus.
2012 is going to be a great year: the year of the DRAGON with wings - so for those DRAGONS out there this is the year you are going to FLY!! Toted as a year of change - most people would say that the changes started in 2011 and will certainly manifest to their fullest in 2012.
I have decided to open 4 days here (Thursday-Sunday) because I NEED to have time in my studio - to paint, design, sew - I NEED the balance. Being settled is going to give me the time and balance we should all have and being so close to family all year round will be a blessing. I'm doing what makes me HAPPY ..... hope you get to do the same.
I wont leave it so long before I post my next Blog...talk to you soon Charms xx
